Hello, and welcome to Discover Counselling Services. My commitment is to walk alongside you as you embark on the journey of discovering your truest self. Together, we’ll navigate a path that helps you uncover the tools, skills, and strategies tailored to your unique life and the challenges you face. If the climb feels steep or the path ahead seems daunting, know that I’ll be there with you every step of the way, helping you build a strong foundation to rise above and continue forward with confidence.

Life has always been a journey of change and growth for me, constantly presenting new opportunities to adapt, shift my approaches, and embrace the unknown. From returning to post secondary education as an adult, to making a career change, to raising two young adults who continue to teach me valuable lessons everyday, I’ve learned that growth never stops.

I bring that drive into my work with you. I want you to feel heard, respected, and accepted in order to build a trusting relationship where you can explore and reflect on all aspects of your right-here, right-now circumstance.

In addition to my academic knowledge, I bring extensive training and experience from working with youth, young adults, adults and families from highly diverse backgrounds and identities across private and community mental health agencies, schools, and hospitals. My practice has expanded to working with diverse couples.

Part of my time is spent volunteering in the justice system, to help keep non-violent, school-aged youth offenders out of jail. On a yearly basis, I keep current in my field by completing professional development courses, certification programs and workshops.

Quality time spent with family and friends, a flavourful cup of coffee and participating in physical activity are a few of the things that I am passionate about. A daily mindfulness practice gives me the ability to remain conscious and pay attention when life happens. Therefore, when I am about to treat myself to that first cup of cappuccino in the morning, I am not distracted. I embrace that moment on purpose. And with clients, I remain fully present and you have my undivided attention.

Integrated Therapy Approaches

Techniques are chosen to fit — not force — your healing process

Approaches are blended thoughtfully based on your goals and experiences

I draw from multiple evidence-based modalities to support your needs

   Sessions may include tools from:

  •    Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  •    Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
  •    Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
  •    Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  •    Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  •     Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

My work is trauma-informed and attachment-aware, helping tailor techniques to your emotional landscape and lived experience.
